Since 1993, I've built over 170 fine custom homes in the Indianapolis area. Experience, dedication to our customers, and passion for the products we build are my core values that have served me well over the last 20 years.

As the name of our company, Pinery Homes by Rex Brown, makes clear, there is just one manager in charge of every home: Rex Brown. He is responsible for every detail of every home. For our customer, this means that one phone call is all it takes. From the sales process to the final punch out, Rex is your only manager. This direct control throughout the entire process ensures a smooth process.
Rex employs several others to help in such capacities as office organization, accounting, field supervision of daily activities, punch-out work, etc. Rex has developed a team that makes the building process smooth, reliable, and of course, fun. We encourage potential customers to check with our previous homebuyers to find out just how well we've done.
Homes available now
Currently Pinery Homes by Rex Brown is building 8-9 custom homes at any given time, priced at $450,000 to $2 million. With a goal to build 15 homes a year, we start two homes every month. This gives us two big advantages: Our contractors and vendors know what's coming and they plan their businesses around our schedule. This results in more dependable relationships with contractors and vendors. The other advantage is that we always have homes in varying stages of completion. This gives homebuyers more choices in buying a Pinery Home by Rex Brown. Homebuyers can start from scratch or select a home that's nearly complete, making decisions on the fine details that make each of our homes unique. Generally speaking, at any given time, Pinery Homes by Rex Brown has a home that is finished and ready to move into immediately.

You will never see a Pinery Home by Rex brown model that has been furnished. We believe we offer a great custom home value without spending unnecessarily on interior furnishings. By moving swiftly through construction, showing our product, and moving to the sale, our method is more efficient, and more cost-effective. This strategy has served us well. We operate at a lower cost and are able to move more quickly than our competition. Families tend to visit our homes five or six times before reaching a decision. Having different homes and ideas for them to view firsthand seems to help them select a Pinery Custom Home that is their best choice.
In those rare occasions when someone wants to see a furnished home, we simply connect them with one of our previous buyers. Our customers love to show off their homes. While there, homebuyers gain a better understanding of the Rex Brown process. Customers continue to provide referrals, passing along information about us.
A rich heritage of craftsmanship
Pinery Homes by Rex Brown is a family-owned and operated company. Rex Brown, Sr. began the Pinery business in Bedford, Indiana, in the early 1960s, and continued setting high standards until his passing. Rex Brown, Jr. now has the helm of the dynamic Pinery Homes by Rex Brown, constructing beautiful custom homes.
The business began operating in the Indianapolis area in 1986 as a new home framing contractor. Along with working with new homes, we also worked with some light commercial buildings and all types of custom wood structures. Helping many homeowners with the remodeling of existing homes, started the company in a direction towards the present day...building fine custom homes! The original business name, "The Pinery," came from the time when we built thousands of custom wood decks wood screen porches, sun rooms, gazebos, arbors, front porches, and all types of room additions, the majority of which were built using Southern Yellow Pine. The company became widely known for its high-quality custom deck construction, and the name took hold and has been part of us since.
Since 1993, Pinery Homes by Rex Brown has been building homes in the $450,000 to $2,000,000 price range in Fishers, Noblesville, and the Geist area and is now building in Carmel, Zionsville and northern Indianapolis.
